Looking for fun things to do in Boise this weekend? Then you'll want to check out what's happening with the weekend activities for Boise Bike Week. For those of you in love with the Boise greenbelt and who've been hankering to leave your piece of Boise, Idaho real estate, this might be the perfect opportunity for some outdoor recreation and fun that you can do with friends and kids in tow.

Things to do Around Boise for May 16, 17 & 19

To get you up to speed, Boise Bike Week kicked off earlier this week, and if you were anywhere near the Boise bike paths near Boise State University, you know that there were fresh bagels to be had and free bike repair kits. However, there are still events yet to do.

Friday is the Bike to Work Day Celebration, so if you've been thinking about getting some exercise and doing something positive for the air quality in the City of Trees, this opportunity is for you. On Friday night, Michael McCoy will give a talk about the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route and about the new version of the tour guide book, "Cycling the Great Divide." He's a veteran of many a bike trail and adventure, including long-distance trips. the presentation will include a slide show. It'll be held at the Boise Bike Project at 1027 Lusk St. Boise, Idaho.

Downtown Boise Activities

As far as things to do in Boise on Saturday, the day is jam-packed with cool bike-related activities. You can take part in a foothills clean up. Or Cycle for Independence, which raises money for the National Federation of the Blind of Idaho. Biking Boise has been touted as "Driver's Ed for People on Bikes." It'll provide you with information on bike law, give you an idea about how to plan your commutes on your bike (and give you an excuse to ride along the Boise greenbelt everyday) and give you some road practice amongst other things.

If you have yet to really venture out on the Boise bike trails, you may want to stop by the New Rider Clinic and then finish the day off  at the Pedal Power Parade and Finale. While the ride itself will be exhilarating, I'm sure plenty of people will also love the cool, refreshing bit of ice cream at the end.

Go to the Boise Bike Week website for more details on each event, including where to find these activities in Boise, Idaho.
