Boise Idaho is a great place in which to raise a family.  In an article published on April 4, 2012, Forbes Magazine named Boise Idaho as the 2nd Best City in which to raise a family.  In making this determination, Forbes looked at the top 100 metropolitan cities in America and ranked them in each of the following seven categories.
  • Median income
  • Overall cost of living
  • Housing affordability (i.e., what percentage of the market is affordable to a family making the median income)
  • Commuting delays
  • Percentage of families owing homes
  • Crime rate
  • Quality of Education (based mainly on test scores)
After comparing the scores for these 100 cities, Boise Idaho ranked 2nd overall, surpassed only by Grand Rapids Michigan.  Of special note is the fact that Boise Idaho ranked #1 in quality of education.  To read the entire Forbes article, click here. The fact is Boise real estate developers have kept, continue to keep, residents in mind when developing subdivisions.  Communities are planned for luxury and affordability, convenience, lifestyle and recreation, and usually come with lots of amenities.  Subdivisions such as Harris Ranch, for example, offer residents pools, walking paths, shopping, schools that are within walking distance, community parks and playgrounds, etc. Residents of Boise Idaho can also enjoy skiing and snowboarding, hiking/biking/walking along the many paths in the foothills, Greenbelt, several parks, boating, fishing, and the culture of downtown Boise.  There are art museums, theaters, sports arenas, botanical gardens, the Shakespeare Festival, shopping, international restaurants and the largest Basque community in the area.  And the views are amazing.  Boise has it all.
