Eagle, Idaho

Real Estate Info

Eagle Idaho real estate is more of a rural community in the Boise metro market. That is to say that while it's now a town of 20,000 residents, it still retains its small village atmosphere, making it a very attractive destination for people looking at homes for sale in Eagle, Idaho.

Eagle got its start as many Western towns did when gold was discovered in 1862, promoting an influx of people looking to strike it rich. Back then, some made their fortune by digging in the dirt looking for gold.

Eagle Idaho Real Estate

Fly Fisherman on Boise RiverMost people who settled in Eagle in the early days made their life, if not their fortunes digging in the dirt for food. Eagle, Idaho real estate flourished when the residents here tapped into the real treasure of the valley, agriculture.

Still, by 1970, only about 350 people occupied homes in Eagle. Mostly, it was dotted with rural farms, which swept past the car window on an Sunday afternoon drive. Eagle itself snuggled in between the Boise Foothills and the Boise River. In fact, it wasn't that long ago that Eagle was mostly a destination for afternoon fishermen who wanted to get out of Boise to drop a fishing line into the water, but still only be gone for part of an afternoon. However, in time with the addition of the golf course and nearby Hewlett Packard, Eagle, Idaho became a desirable place to live in its own right, offering many amenities to those who call Eagle, Idaho home.

Eagle Fun Days

Participants contemplate upcoming 5K and 10K races as they munch on food and chat at the community breakfast. Later, some of them will head over to the crafts vendors to pick up a few trinkets or head out to the streets for the Wet and Wild Parade, where they can take part in what may be the biggest water gun fight this side of the Mississippi. The bravest Fun Days participants have a taste of the famous Rocky Mountain Oysters, and some mount their bikes to share in the fun at family bike night and all marvel at the fireworks spectacle that closes down the evening's fare.
