Encompassing 4.17 square miles, Garden City real estate is fully surrounded by the City of Boise and offers a unique blend of homes and property. For such a small area, Garden City real estate values vary greatly and in some cases are among the highest while others are the lowest.
Garden City’s population was 12,288 in 2021. Garden City derived its name from the gardens raised by Chinese immigrants who lived in the area in the late 1800s.
Garden City real estate has what many would consider an ideal geographic location: It’s located along a several mile stretch of the Boise River, it’s minutes to Downtown Boise, and relatively close to the foothills. And while there are several very nice areas, not all of Garden City is highly sought-after for owner-occupant homes.
The most desirable area is located west of Glenwood, along both sides of the Boise River. The most notable neighborhood in this area is Riverside Village and the several neighborhoods that adjoin it. From a rental perspective, many real estate investors own rental property in the other areas of Garden City.
Attractions in Garden City
Boise Hawks – The Boise Hawks are a minor league baseball team in Garden City, Idaho. The Hawks’ stadium is located at Memorial Stadium in Garden City, on the banks of the Boise River, and has a seating capacity of 3,500.
Boise River – The Boise River runs along Garden City with the Boise Greenbelt, a paved pathway for walking, running, or bike riding.
Boise Expo Building – Throughout the year a variety of events, concerned, and fair make their way here and to the adjoining fairgrounds.
Boise Whitewater Park – The surfing whitewater park is a destination for many, including those who travel here from far away. The Whitewater Park is bordered on the southern side by Garden City.
